It's best we forget that phase. Rachel was in a dark place as her mother had just died recently and her dad was screwing Emma.

Phoenix is apparently back in Mighty Thor.

Instead of consulting the #1 PF user, Rachel whom Gladiator knows and awarded her as a Hero of the Shi'ar in the past, they consult QQ.

Well, to be fair Jason Aaron is writing The Mighty Thor. He's a big fan of QQ and loved writing him in WatX, and with Kid Gladiator and Warbird reappearing it makes a little sense in a writers preference. But in terms of history with the Shi'ar it should have been Rachel. For those of you who aren't reading it, essentially the Shi'ar gods are at war with the Asgardian gods (because of Loki). Feeling defeated and insulted by their own, K'yhtri and Sharra decide to consume the universe with their love and start from scratch. In doing so they summon the Phoenix Force, which Marvel has decided is solely a force of destruction. So Kid Gladiator goes and gets his bestie QQ to help deal with the Phoenix.

BUT DID YOU KNOW THAT THERE IS ALSO ANOTHER PHOENIX AVATAR??? In the Thanos limited series, Thane opens a Phoenix egg he found and claims the Phoenix for his own to teach Thanos a lesson. the last page shows a Phoenix powered Thane sitting on a throne with his devious lover.

SO THERE ARE 2 PHOENIX FORCES RIGHT NOW. I made a thread on it yesterday, but no one seemed to care but I thought it was ridiculous that so many Phoenixes are running around Marvel, and I wonder which one Jean is going to have to deal with.

I'm thinking both will unite with each other. We've seen fragments of the Phoenix reunite before. And Adult Jean has a showing in Generations.

Shame that Aaron didn't do their research on the Shi'ar. QQ over Rachel because he likes QQ despite all logic, past history, past relationships and evidence supporting Rachel as the best choice is very disappointing.

At least Hopeless has said Rachel was the most successful Phoenix host, and at least Jeen will contact her on advice on how to deal with the Phoenix. Rachel is the best person to talk to, and aside from that Dr. Strange probably has great insight. Of course Jeen needs to talk to Jean herself, and Marvel is finally getting around that too.
