    decent show this week.

nice beatdown on blue demon by chavito and the crew. even nicer striker didn't call him blue dee-moan.

drago's back and his upgraded gear looks awesome.

disciples vs pimpi, mascarita sagrada, bengala was decent. disciples are a good use of some of the jobbers they have. bengala looked ok, not real familiar with him.

4 way was good. plenty of action and some drama building between former partners cuerno & cage, also seems a rivalry between hunters killshot & cuerno could be cool.

Disciples were OK, but they need more teamwork, it kinda felt like the more lucha match in a while, good, but not on the same page of other matches in LU. Now the have Ultima Lucha set up, so it's gonna be a couple of months of buildup.

Best thing ever would be if Chavo got the Black Lotus treatment, when he gets out of the trunk, "You're in Mexico", and they have a mariachi and give him a medal for beating up Blue Demon

LOL, the disciples probably just need more time as they were just thrown together. 1 doesn't speak english, another doesn't speak spanish, and one i think speaks both.

are there any details what ultima lucha is going to be?? a 2 hour special perhaps??

The 4 way was okay but Drago's new look was mesmerizing. Almost as mesmerizing as Catrina. While I am not a fan at all of women vs men matches, Lucha has wonderful handle on less is more with the women on their show. They all mean something. They are not interchangeable.

Speaking of speaking... Drago "speaks" in the vignette!!! He might have been dubbed, dubbed by himself even, but that was nice. Season finale is gonna be 2 hours, it seems the previous episode will also be part of "Ultima Lucha", since they air earlier episodes as a lead in for the current one, it could be possible to skip ep 38 and then watch 3 hours of Ultima Lucha... but plans may change, next week's Iron Man match was taped out of order so no one knows what else might happen in the rest of the season.

i don't really watch lucha underground for hour long matches but the ironman was pretty good. awesome highspots as you'd xpect and a decent amout of storytelling. will be interesting to watch the build towards ultima lucha in the coming weeks.

this weeks show was just OK at best, sucks that chavito blew out his hamy during the main event.

texano vs davari was pretty good and best on the show imo.

drago vs hernandez was OK but should've been hotter considering their history, probably should've been a stip match by this point.

albert vs marty was a squash but a pretty good promo by alberto post match. juanito mundo watch your ass, alberto is coming for you PINCHE PERRO. never mess with alberto's face, it was a gift from his beautiful mother.

chavo vs puma never got a chance to get going after chavo got hurt but they still advanced the storyline with texano and then blue demon backstage later.

awesome show this week and things are coming together for ultima lucha nicely.

cage vs mack was short but very damn sweet. match already had some build behind it but the rivalry looks far from over. awesome rollup variation by mack.

hijo del havok vs mil muertes was good and furthered the disciples vs dysfunctionals feud as the disciples beat up angelico and catrina hit ivelise with the stone.

alberto, aerostar, drago, sexy star vs mundo, evans, hernandez, evans was a great main event. 4 wrestlers with individual beefs with the competitors across the ring from them. now that's a lot of progression of story in one match and damn fun to watch.

between matches blue demon turned heel on texano after texano cut a pretty decent promo in english. seemed kind of sudden but maybe blue demon will be better as a heel.

lots of pentagon jr outside of the ring, 1st from his dojo getting instruction from his master which was awesome, then later in a sitdown interview with vampiro which was pretty damn cool, then to end the show **** hit a HOLE NOTHA LEVEL.

Lucha Underground producer Eric Van Wagenen was on the Steve Austin podcast today and spoke about the future of the promotion, here is what he had to say about a second season and more

Quote Originally Posted by Eric Van Wagenen View Post

We want you back.’ Now, what we’re trying to do as an organization, is we’re trying to maintain this certain level of production value. There’s the amount of money El Rey is giving us, and then there’s this amount of money that we need to spend in order to keep the same level of quality that we’ve established. […] It’s a high production value, we put a lot of emphasis on the production value, we don’t cut any corner. So now, what we are doing is, myself and the other El Rey executives and the investors and Mark Burnett and the people who work at the United Artist Media group – there is a combined effort to bridge that gap, between the money El Rey is giving us and the money we need. All options are on the table, whether that’s Netflix, iTunes, a secondary broadcast partner, or DVD sales, merchandise, you name it, everything’s on the table. The money guys are trying to close that gap, and once we have that gap closed, we’re announcing.”

On The Promotion’s End Game: “The bigger goal for us is to create super heroes – we’d much rather be the Avengers than WrestleMania. Our end game is movies, animated series, comic books, cartoons – it’s all the stuff, the Marvel world. So, we create a Marvel world, the Marvel cliffhangers, the sort of Marvel superheroes where women are just as tough as the men, and there are people with some special powers, and Mil Muertes defies death and he’s sort of come back to life now, and Fenix who has a 1000 lives. We’re slowly treading into the super natural, we’re treading into a very science fiction/comic book world. We started with a magna which was written by one of Robert Rodriguez’s writers, where he created some of the characters, and Son of Havoc was one of those characters. We’ve evolved those characters, you know, if you were to look at the original magna, Mil Muertes was in, Prince Puma was in it – there’s a whole bunch more that were in that are still coming that we’re going to be introducing in season 2 – but some of them come from super natural roots, and we base it on a lot of research that has been done by this PHD named Carl Tolb (sp?) who was a consultant for us early, who studied ancient Mesoamerican tribes. It’s in the realm of fantasy, but it’s based in historic research.”

The WON reports that talent is being told that a new season of Lucha Underground may begin filming in September. There are no dates specified yet, although the talent was given official word that they can book dates for August as there will be no conflicts.

The talent wasn’t particularly pleased about the fact that they weren’t given the go-ahead to book for August until now, and some are said to be taking dates for September because there are no confirmed dates and they aren’t trusting the latest word. Since the promotion hasn’t officially announced a second season, it’s still uncertain. However, if any of the taken dates fall on a taping day they would have to pull out of the other promtion’s appearance, as their contract gives Lucha Underground priority.

Lucha Underground really does a great job with its heels. Mil,,Pentagon, Cage, aneven Morrisonare well thought out characters. The balancing act with Mil and Pentagon is admirable..

i hope vampiro is in something close to wrestling shape when he has his match with pentagon jr, that is a cool storyline with 2 great characters they have there, would be a shame if the match or matches suck.
