Let's see, since I last posted I finished the powder mage trilogy and the first book in the new sequel trilogy

the four books in the Trial of Blood and Steel series
    https://www.audible.com/pd/Sci-Fi-Fa...ook/B01N3MAZ9G

The Light of Life: The Cycle of Galand, Book 4

Age of Swords: The Legends of the First Empire, Book 2(prequel series to the Riyera Revelations, basically stone age humans vs Elves)

    Reread Elantris

Reread The Shadow of What Was Lost: The Licanius Trilogy, Book 1, because I'd completely forgotten the plot in preparation for An Echo of Things to Come: The Licanius Trilogy, Book 2
really like this series, looking forward to book 3

Now I'm starting the Wheel of Time series, something I'd been meaning to do for a while, that'll keep me busy till November and the next Stormlight book

Picked up My Best Friend's Exorcism on a whim after seeing the really cool old school VHS book cover. I don't regret that decision one bit. Abby and Gretchen are a joy to read about.

The first Burt Lancaster film I ever saw was adapted from that book back in the early '70s (I saw it with my family at our local drive-in). Pretty sure it was also the first western I ever went to.

What's interesting about the film is that there was no final shoot out or show down between the main protagonist and antagonist. Leonard fought to keep the book's original ending. And it worked.

Very true, though the thing that made an impression on me as a wee one was the use of gun sights. I never knew they existed until then.

I finished reading Pym by Matt Johnson (also wrote Incogengro and the Papa Midnite miniseries for Vertigo). It's a weird book, but an interesting and funny one. I have not read the Edgar Alan Poe story that was the basis for it but I might check it out.

Now I'm reading Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling by Bret Hart again. After reading Hart Strings by Julie Hart (Bret Hart's first wife), it's interesting seeing the odd angles and eccentric behavior of Bret. One of the best books about wrestling I've ever read though.
