New Kindle reads: the short story The Adventures of a Book Keeper (1909) by Rupert Hughes and the last self-help book for me for a while: the aptly titled Self-Help (1859) by Samuel Smiles.

Good book. King gives a lot of good writing tips.

I read it a few years ago and thought it was pretty good, though I remember it being very controversial when it first came out.

How is it? Does it describe any of the tradecraft involved? That kind of stuff interests me.

It is mostly about the technical side of the business...a lot of the science behind espionage. I have really enjoyed it. Basically the memoir of a top British Intelligence scientist who worked from just after the Second World War into the early 1970s.

New book: The Titanic Secret (2019) by Clive Cussler and Jack Du Brul - it's the eleventh Isaac Bell novel. The nice thing is finding out it connects with Cussler's Raise the Titanic!, which I first read over 40 years ago in HS and was my first Dirk Pitt book.
