I read it for school, many years ago. Great novel! I should read it again someday

After 35-something years, I'm re-reading The Right Stuff (1979) by Tom Wolfe.

I’d argue that he did rather more than 1 other great work. “Down and Out in London and Paris” and “The Road to Wigan Pier”, for example, are wonderful books.

In retrospect, I should have typed "famous" instead of "great" in my earlier post. The works you mentioned may be indeed on par with 1984 and Animal Farm, but they don't have their name recognition.

Yes, that’s a good way of putting it.

In general terms I always think one piece of advice my eldest brother gave me (“if you really like one book by a particular author, search out their other work”) is usually sound.

I agree. Yes, there are exceptions, but it has usually been the case for me over the years.

Just started the first book of the Eisenhorn series. I don't know anything about Warhammer other than it gets expensive to play, but my friends want to start playing so I got the first book and ordered the first strike starter set.
    Pull List:

Marvel Comics: Venom, X-Men, Black Panther, Captain America, Eternals, Warhammer 40000.
    DC Comics: The Last God

After finishing the Warlord Trilogy by Bernard Cornwell (which I thought was brilliant!), I'm now reading another book by Michael Morpurgo called Private Peaceful.

I'm curious as to why you think it is topical for our times?
