Yes, but not in the way we think of when we talk about horror. I was never felt scared reading it (I have done so three times, FWIW), but I was certainly disturbed by the premise of the story (still am!)

Could we talk about them as I read them? My pace might be a bit slow, but I stunningly enjoyed the analyzing part of English classes.

On my Kindle, I just finished the short Mrs. Budlong's Christmas Presents (1912) by Rupert Hughes...

... and will start today the lengthy At Last: A Christmas in the West Indies (1871) by Charles Kingsley.

Sure. That's not a problem, Ray.

Any time you finish a story, if you want to post your thoughts regarding it here (with the word Spoilers in the post, of course), I'll add my own thoughts (if I have any ).

No, I mean while I'm reading it.
Like I just started reading "The Next in Line". The opening about the town square.

Hmm... I probably wouldn't want to do that, Ray. I would have to start re-reading them to be completely informed for you and I read enough as it is. Sorry about that.

I've started reading WAR AND PEACE. However, I only read one chapter in the evening. The chapters are very short, so it's pretty easy to read just one. I figured this was the better approach--a lot like reading the Bible--as I often give up reading big books halfway through. But if I'm just reading a little at a time, I have a better chance of getting through it over the course of a year.

I'm sure what I post would refresh your memory well enough.
It talks about how people would gather in the square on Thursdays and Sundays to play music.

I'd still rather not get that in depth regarding the stories, Ray. I do thank you for asking, though.
