New books I'm reading: In Cold Blood (1965) by Truman Capote. I have seen a few of the film adaptions, but this is the first Capote work I have ever had the pleasure to peruse.

On the Kindle front, there are the western short stories Salomy Jane (1898) by Bret Harte and The Lure of the Dim Trails (1907) by B.M. Bower.

The Fleming novels really are a series for which I have to separate creator from product.

Latest Kindle book: Malaeska: Indian Wife of the White Hunter (1860) by Ann S. Stephens. It holds the distinction for being the first "dime novel" ever written.

Has anybody read anything by Bernard Cornwell? I'm loving The Last Kingdom TV series, so I'd like to try some of his books and thinking of buying The Winter King.

I finished reading the first book in Sheila Connolly's Orchard Mysteries series One Bad Apple.

I also read the Jay Faerber graphic novel Over My Dead Body.

Exile From Eden: Or, After the Hole by Andrew Smith, the sequel to Grasshopper Jungle, follows the son of the protagonists from the first book as he explores the world after the apocalypse. I enjoyed revisiting the characters from the first book and most of the new characters and the story was interesting. But there was also a new character that was a bit annoying, and Smith's writing style makes great use of repetition, which I found a little tedious.

I'm reading a book about the economy and jobs because again, it's never for the life of me been easy to simply pick a simple subject in school and study it, nope not at all.

I've ordered it. Hopefully it'll arrive before the weekend and I can start it then. I've had to temporarily put Dune down. I'll go back to it but it's just not giving me the urge to keep picking it up and read it.
