Nope, this is the debut novel in a new series from the author, so it isn't tied to those movies in any way. The series is called the Avery Ayers Antique Mysteries.

So, Jon Land is taking over the "Margaret Truman" series as well as "Murder, She Wrote" from the late Donald Bain? (Then again, it looks like Terrie Farley Moran is now on "Murder, She Wrote" with the books being published in 2021.)

Yeah, Jon Land is done with the Murder, She Wrote series after 6 books. It's a shame because I've read the first three (have the other three in my TBR pile) and I thought his take on them was great. But I get the feeling that his books weren't completely accepted by the previously established fan base for the books. I'd love to find out from the author if he stopped on his own or if they didn't renew his contract. I am friends with him on Facebook and I've met him at a host of his signings.
