Firefight was good. There was a lot of humor to it. he delves a lot more into the powers process with this one.

His worldbuilding is top notch, and he's great at defining simple magic systems and then extrapolating them in novel ways. His action sequences are impeccable. Some of his character work can be a little slight and there's a certain YA quality to even his non-YA material, but sometimes that's what you want. Really, it's mainstream superhero comics in epic fantasy prose drag. I'm honestly surprised that his actual superhero novels are so mediocre.
I wish he would put out a sequel to the rithmatist already. It has been two years. Guh!!!

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I just might give this second one a try.

I just noticed in that post you mentioned Nora Roberts. When I was out of books I borrowed Naked in Death and have been completely hooked to the series.

Recently I've been rereading the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb. It's been a few years since I last read it. It's still easily one of my favorite stories.

I've just started The Bourne Identity-I've wanted to read this series for a while, but I've only just been able to find a copy of the first book.

    Murder on the Orient Express

    by Agatha Christie

This is the first Agatha Christie novel I've read and what an incredible 'whodunit' it is. The mystery is interesting, the cast rich with colorful characters and the ending reveal was fantastic and unexpected. I am definitely interested in reading the other adventures of detective Hercule Poirot as well as more of Christie's other work.
