    Reading Robin Hobb’s Assassin’s Fate.

It’s the 16th book set in the same fantasy world and draws enormously on threads from the earlier books. Oh..and it’s a wonderful read. I think she has to be a strong candidate for best living fantasy writer.

On my Kindle, it's the poem The Baron's Yule Feast: A Christmas Rhyme (1846) by Thomas Cooper.

The latest e-book I'm reading is Evergreen Christmas Readings (2018) by various authors, which will probably tide me over on my Kindle for the next few years at the holidays.

I've finished AN EGGNOG TO DIE FOR by Amy Pershing. It's the 2nd book in her Cape Cod Foodie mystery series.

New book: I'm re-reading for the third time The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich (1950) by William L. Shirer. It appears every couple of decades I need to check it out again. Besides, is there a better book to read for the holidays?

Between this and the yuletide collection I'm reading on my Kindle, I won't have to post anything more until Christmas at the very least.

Never read it, Major, but would love to in the future.

It's funny, but there was a time I read so many WWII and Nazi (anti!) books and novels back in the '80s. My brothers used to kid me about it the way people talked about A&E years ago before it started airing reality programming. There's something about that era that appeals to me like no other.

I was doing a lot of reading at one point about WWII journalism and the correspondents (like Edward R. Murrow) trying to cover the war and make it relatable to people here in the U.S. who weren't actually anywhere near the battles.

As for A&E, I remember when they use to air all those Biography programs . . . I enjoyed some of those.

I have read a bit of Ernie Pyle's reports myself, so I feel the same way about them as you do.

I used to watch a lot of that channel at one time, but like Discovery. TLC, and even the History Channel, it devolved into something I'm not really interested in.

I do think Pyle's words are worth reading.
