I've been reading Ex-Communication by Peter Clines, it's the fourth book in the Ex-heroes series, where a bunch of superheroes are trying to survive a zombie apocalypse. It's actually a really engaging series. Clines put a lot of research into the books, It should totally be a movie.

I bought the first Vatta novel and couldn't get into it. Not saying it was bad, but I felt there was no atmosphere or much description, too much trading stuff I couldn't get into, and some weird character moments, like people crying with laughter at banter that would only merit a chuckle in real life.

Been meaning to get that for months. Sound a lot like soon I will be invincible, which I loved.

The recent, sad death of Sir Terry Pratchett has motivated me to start re-reading the entire Discworld canon again, for either the 4th or 5th time (I forget):

    I loved those.

Some fair similarities to the show, but some interesting differences.

Khal Drogo bit more considerate, but still rape, I feel.

Catelyn A LOT more unlikeable, mean, what have you.

    Jon younger than I thought.

    Interesting.
Season 1 is the most faithful to the books, you're into a hell of a ride when you get to the book 2. The show changed A LOT.

I just finished Gun Machine by Warren Ellis, and am about a hundred pages or so into The Affair by Lee Child.

I'm just starting Grace of Kings by Ken Liu. It's an epic fantasy (very) loosely based on the rise of the Han dynasty.

I finished the Karin Slaughter thriller Cop Town last night.

It was set in 1974 Atlanta. The book took a while to get going but it really did get going after the first 95 pages. It was both an intriguing and infuriating read.

Intriguing because of the story which centers on two female cops who end up investigating the shooting deaths of five cops and infuriating for the realistic but disgustingly awful portrayal of the circumstances female cops had to deal with in back in the mid-70's South.

The last book I finished was Ready Player One. If you're at all interested in gaming or 80s pop culture I highly recommend the story.
Spielberg picked it up for a movie recently too
