Starting today, I will be reading The Lion (2010) by Nelson DeMille, the fifth book from the John Corey series. On my Kindle, still on my yuletide kick, it will be Holiday Tales: Christmas in the Adirondacks (1897) by W.H.H. Murray.

I am currently reading the 191 series by harry Turttledove. It is the best Alt history that I have ever read. No one comes close.

The only book of his I ever read was Ruled Britannia, which was outstanding. I believe just about every famous line from Shakespeare (the leading character in the book) can be found in it.

Okay, at least one more holiday book on my Kindle for this season: A Versailles Christmas-Tide (1901) by Mary Stuart Boyd.

Well, now that you mention it, "Ed" ... The Christmas Kalends of Provence and Some Other Provençal Festivals (1902) by Thomas A. Janvier. After that, it's back to my usual eclectic non-holiday reading on the ol' Kindle.

Merry Christmas, a belated Happy Chanukah, and Seasons Greetings to one and all!

Finished Expanse 5: Nemesis Games. Now re-reading book 6, after this I can end the re-read and get to the brand new Expanse book. It better be good after my doing this whole re-read thing in its honor.

Also been plucking away at David Foster Wallace's essay collection A Supposedly Fun Thing That I'll Never Do Again. Thanks for the super long title Dave, it's not annoying to type into the computer at aaaaaaall.

It's the best book since book 1, if not better. Goodreads ranks it as the best in the series, so it's not just my opinion. After books 2 3 and 4 focused heavily on random new characters who we almost never see again after their book ends, book 5 was a nice change of pace, finally fleshing out all the core characters instead of throwing 50 new characters at you.

    No more Christmas books!

Just started reading The Spy in Question (1988) by Tim Sebastian. On my Kindle, it's back to Alan Quatermain - Child of Storm (1913), the sixth book in the series by H. Rider Haggard.

Never read any of them, but I did enjoy watching the show on PBS years ago, FWIW.
