Just finished Expanse 7, HOLY SMOKES BOYS expanse is some ride

    spoilers:
The books are in the final stretch now, and things have gone full Star Wars. Evil conquering armies, spooky alium technology, the Roci team having some internal struggles and an epic Bobbi Vs Amos slugfest. Loads of crying after a major character death, too.
end of spoilers Only two books left, the hype is real.

Now reading Mission: Jimmy Stewart and the Fight for Europe (2016) by Robert Matzen. It explorers his role in the Army Air Corps during WWII and how it shaped his post-war acting and roles.

I read that a few years ago. Good book for a very unsung bunch of soldiers.

    Recently finished:

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera, urban SF where there is a service called Death Cast that alerts you of your impending death about twenty four hours before it occurs. Story follows two young men on their last day.

At the Edge of the Universe by Shaun David Hutchinson, a story about an ever-shrinking universe, bad break ups, mental health problems, and alternate dimensions. Content Warning for spoilers:
    sexual abuse of a minor
    end of spoilers.

Release by Patrick Ness, a semi-closeted teen has a very bad day, meanwhile an ancient goddess is trapped in a dead girl and might accidentally destroy all reality.

The Bedlam Stacks by Natasha Pulley, historical fantasy about a small expedition to retrieve cinchona trees from Peru.

I've started this thing where I only read books during my breaks at work in order to make them last a little while, otherwise I tend to just marathon through them.

Have you read Patton's Panthers: The African-American 761st Tank Battalion In World War II? Before Lowndes County Alabama and Huey and Bobby. Before T'Challa--there was the Black Panthers of the 761st Tank Battalion. "COME OUT FIGHTING" was their motto.

On my Kindle, I'm reading The Holy Flower (1915), the seventh book in the Alan Quatermain series by H. Rider Haggard.

Never read it, Ollie, but I would definitely like to.

Finished Expanse book 5, Nemesis Games. Have to say, it was one of the best in the series. Probably tied as my favorite with Leviathan Wakes. Now I'm on to Babylon's Ashes.

Just got my hands on an ARC for a novel coming out in July called Sanctuary, by Caryn Lix. I couldn't put it down. It's sort of an Alien meets X-men kind of story. Easily one of the best Sci-fi books I've read in the past year. More details here: https://sirmarkussite.wordpress.com/...-by-caryn-lix/

Just finished listening to THE GIRL IN THE TOWER by Katherine Arden. It's the sequel to THE BEAR AND THE NIGHTINGALE. Very much reads / sounds like a Russian fairy tale.
Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?
