Finished The Avenger #3: The Sky Walker by "Kenneth Robeson" this morning, so now I've started on:

The Bat Strikes Again and Again! by Johnston McCulley
(published by Altus Press; collects stories that appeared in issues of Popular Detective magazine in 1934 and 1935)

Peake's artwork for the series is really cool too.

I finished 1984 by George Orwell. I loved the interrogation scene with O'Brien. I kinda loved O'Brien in general. I'm really glad Winston came around in the end.

    Long Live Big Brother!

I'd recommend he works of Larry Niven, possibly starting with Tales of Known Space or Crashlander or Neutron Star.

I think Elmo was looking for stories with more pulp roots, but Niven is great, no doubt.

Currently writing a new novel of my own, so have been sticking to re-reads rather than things I need to truly focus on. Currently halfway through four different classics.

    Survivor by Chuck Palahnuik.
    Inherent Vice by Thomas Pynchon.
    Crash by JG Ballard.
Eye Of The World, by Robert Jordan.

Also, I got into the old Star Wars book series New Jedi Order, read the first book in the series and it killed a classic character, feels bad mayne.

Yeah was looking for more pulp sci fi but I've been meaning to check out the Known Space universe anyway.

In my amazon cart I have a few Perry Rhodan books, Planet of Adventure by Jack Vance, Cosmic Computer by H Beam Piper, The Stars Are Ours by Andre Norton, and Triplanetary by EE Smith.

I'm just looking for books similar to stuff like Forbidden Planet or Flash Gordon. Very simple space stories that I can read quickly but still with literary merit.

Oops, yeah, my mistake there. I still recommend Niven to any looking for good sci-fi.

@ Elmo: More along the lines of fun space adventure and pulpy action: you might check out Adventures of the Stainless Steel Rat or Death World By Harry Harrison.

On my Kindle, I'm reading another Alan Quatermain short story by H. Rider Haggard - A Tale of Three Lions (1887) - and later on today Amores: Poems (1916) by D.H. Lawrence.

Took about a week off of reading the REH Conan stories to catch up with my comics, but now I'm back in and started with "The Hour of the Dragon".
