Haha, cheating? Really? If there is a market there for variants it would be silly not to exploit it.

Open your eyes, maaaaan. They MAKE you buy all those comics to get the variants. Like, with guns to your temples and mind control radio waves. Not money-making incentives!

Yeah, and I bet 150,000 of those were funneled through Disney's secret, Cayman Islands Diamond accounts.

It creates a false premise for sales numbers.

And that affects ... what, exactly? And if everyone KNOWS that's what's happening, what difference does it make?

Well, i buy a lot of digital comics on Comixology, and it's not very common to see a comic with 5 stars on reviews, and more than 1500 reviews. This was SW #1.

Now, if we look at SW #2, it still have 5 stars rating (reviews from readers), but now it have 900+ reviews. It's not the same number, but it is still HUGE.

Then enter Darth Vader #1. Also 5 stars and 800+ reviews. It has potential.

Curious to see how SW #3 will perform.

Well sales numbers can be use to determine how popular a title is. If these sales are pumped up by variants it is harder to determine how popular it is.
