I am guessing that the Armored suit is the one they showed in Comic con teaser. Destroyed city could be Metropolis (but would that mean they will start of DOJ right away, as supposed to a few months after MOS?).
I think they may show flashbacks, assuming Bruce was in Metropolis at the time. Would be cool to see Bruce's reactions at the time of the invasion, up until then he would of only dealt with street level crime and villains, seeing the Krpytonians would of been on a whole other level.

-The only Batman supporting character confirmed thus far is Alfred, whereas all of the surviving Superman cast from MOS are coming back (along with the introductions of Lex and possibly Jimmy).

So yes, it IS a MOS sequel that just happens to have other heroes in it. Just like TWS was a CA sequel that just happened to have other heroes in it.
The difference being WB is using Batman name and character to push sales for the squeal. While the only real push for Cap was Cap.

Except WB is looking for a billion on this film, so getting Batman in it will make that a good possibility. Winter Soldier, while very successful, had "only" MoS-like numbers.

well, at least WB wanted MoS to be a billion $ film.

Warner Bros. motion pictures group president Jeff Robinov went so far as to predict it will be the studio’s highest performer ever. That would mean the 3D movie, which cost about $225 million to produce and another $150 million to market and release around the globe, would have to top the $1.3 billion cume for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ and the $1 billion-plus each earned by four other Warner releases, “The Dark Knight,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.”

No, one person doesn't mean everybody at WB thought it would make a billion. Again, if the management collectively thought that, they really shouldn't be running a studio then.

It's going to be fun being a comic-book fan during that time, indeed.

At this point, I'm hoping Dawn of Justice ends up being good because Warner Bros' entire gameplan hinges on how audiences react to it.

It would really, really have to be bad for it not to make money (and I don't see that happening). Whether it hits a billion, that's a different story, of course.

Wow. Marvel may want to reconsider that Black Panther release date because there's zero way Justice League isn't owning the rest of the month.

Damn. The worst part is with an overall increase in quality of these films, I'm likely to want to see them all. This is the first time I'm feeling that I might get burned out.

There's no way BvS isn't going to at least break $600 million, and that's lowballing the film by a wide margin. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor in one film? I don't expect it to break a billion unless it's high quality but it'll do well enough to justify the continued production of the DC film slate. What's most important is that the films are varied enough that viewers don't get tired of them.

Oh, why did the trend of splitting novel adaptations into two parts have to spill into our big-screen comics?

If we must stay in a crowed, noisy theater for four hours to watch people in suits punch other people for the cost of one ticket instead of two tickets for two hours, so be it!

There's not much room for error now, indeed. WB can't make any fumbles at this point, any more Green Lantern-style missteps and they risk becoming also-rans in a market like this.

On the other hand, there is every indication that Iron Man/Tony Stark will appear in Cap 3.
