If Jena Malone is indeed playing Babs I wonder if WB/DC had any influence on that decision. Snyder has said from the beginning that The Dark Knight is the main influence for his Batman. You'd think that he'd absolutely want Carrie Kelley to be a part of this. Making her Barbara goes against his whole design. And Malone seems like she would be too young to be Barbara at this point in Batman's career. that's why I'm think, if true, this may have been one of WB's requests. Babs/Batgirl is far more marketable and important for DC than Carrie. They've been pushing the character a lot since the reboot. We've seen how badly both DC and Marvel have been trying to promote strong female heroes. With Supergirl having her own show on CBS and Babs appearing in BvS (and possibly the future Batman movie) it would be a pretty big win for the company.
I'm really curious when we'll get an offical answer to who she'll be portraying.

Watched Man of Steel again last night, such an underrated film sure it has it flaws but it isn't as bad as people made it out to be. Still remember watching it opening day at IMAX, best film experience ever, still have the ticket stub!

It's not as hated as you think. When AMC did there tournament for best superhero movie ever, MOS made it to the semi finals, beating out Spider-Man (Sam's version not the latest ones) and The Dark Knight Rises. It was only beat by TDK, but that's a given.
