Do the tie in comics show what happens in the games or are they just prequels or epilogue? Having never played the games would I be lost?

There are a bunch of comics that are set in the world of the game but none of them directly adapt the stories from the games. Some are prequels like Batman: Arkham Asylum The Road to Arkham, others are epilogues like Batman: Arkham City End Game and others merely explore minor details of the game like Arkham Unhinged(which is my favorite). The short of it though is that you don't really need to know much about the games; a basic knowledge of Batman is truly enough.
Arkham Unhinged was great. It wandered far from the events of the game.
They kinda left that story hanging, didn't they?

I'll have to look and see if I'm even correct, but I seem to remember that final storyline remaining unresolved.
By that point, Unhinged wasn't even about the game anymore though anyway. It was more like another leg of Legends of the Dark Knight, presenting new characters and situations.
The series went far beyond the game's storyline, but had some very relevant stories that highlighted some of the side characters from the game.
The story of the Russian Siamese twins was awesome.

I looked at the last issue of Unhinged.
Bookbinder was indeed still at large, thought his identity seemed clear.
The last words on the page are "To be continued..."
I kinda expected this in LODK.
In any event, I'd love to see Karen Traviss return.
Anybody reading Arkham Knight? That's off to a good start. Much more enjoyable than Tomasi's stuff has been in a while.

I liked the book binder story but it never really felt like part of the overall story so I don't know if it will be mentioned in the new game, or if it's a real flaw if it is not.
On an unrelated note it doesn't look like Arkham Knight will be coming out for the WiiU so it's doubtful I'll be playing it, so I don't think I'll be picking up the book.
