Put at least one more female character on the team. It's such a sausage-fest right now, jeez.
The JLTAS version plus Aquaman.
I would actually want each movie to have a different GL. Do Hal, then have Guy in the second. And when they ask where Hal is, smash cut to him and Kilowag pinned down by off screen red lasers shouting "Go to space they said! It'll be FUN they said!"
The new 52 JL already has some minorities. The token female Wonder Woman was created in the golden age. New 52 now also has a token african american in Cyborg.
I heard golden age Wonder Woman was created as a reaction to there being too many male heroes during the golden age.
The creator William Marston wanted to make a superhero that fought through love. It was under his wife's suggestion that this character be a woman.
Even token used within the context of fiction means a stand in for a certain under represented group that is part of the cast that exists just for diversities sake. Certainly not the main character of a book.

I think it'd be super neat to have Firestorm be featured in a movie in the same way he was featured in CoIE, Supergirl in general too, but I think in terms of having the Justice League be a movie you have to go with the big 7, it's familiar, there is a lot of interesting dialogues that could happen that we've already seen in the animated series, it's the most well known one, and well I'd hate to say it but in a marketing aspect it just makes sense, this isn't a good analogy, but it'd be like if Marvel had made a Guardians of the Galaxy movie with Martinex and Cap Charlie-27, it's not very effective at all.
(and frankly it'd just be inconvenient anyway)
frankly, in my opinion I'd LOVE a JLI movie
