Also, this is minor but it annoys me that back in the day when killing Gwen Stacy was a controversial decision, everyone at Marvel was perfectly okay at letting the then teenage/young 20's Gerry Conway take the fall (no pun) and be thrown to the wolves. But now that the story has become such a popular classic, Romita claims that it was his idea all along?
I love the guy but I don't appreciate his sudden eagerness to take credit for something Conway had to face the vast majority of the fan ire back when it wasn't clear to many that it was in fact good storytelling. Taking credit after the dust settles is the easiest thing ever.
