I don't think the timing works out without a comicky explanation, yeah. This series taking place two years after Gert's death (which couldn't have been less than a year after the series started*) means the alignment would have definitely happened previously.

Maybe the trip to 1907 threw things off a bit?

*Well it could be, the amount of time the kids initially spent in the first Hostel has never been perfectly clear. Issue 18 takes place several months after 17, but I don't think we know how long it was between that, and issue 1 of the first relaunch. After Gert died it was stated that the amount of time Victor knew Gert was a matter of weeks. In any case, less than a year could work, but definitely doesn't feel right to me.

Nice cover. Glad to see the return of the Techno-Stovepipe Hat, and everyone looks suitably menacing. Molly would look creepy if not for retaining a hat.

I hope it's not the end, but even if that is the final issue of the volume I don't think it will be long until we see another attempt at a series.

I'm surprised by how intimidating these kids look when in villain attire. Half of them are wearing hats that are silly to be frank, and it looks like they're out for blood.
