Carol's current costume is the best she's ever had.
That said, the black costume could work just as well if it were given pants.
My hot take is that the black costume in itself is great, and wasn't even so sexualized when it was created, but:
- Frank Cho and a bunch of other artists ruined it by making it so it was like a thong and showing her whole ass and even like... sides of the front.
- It doesn't really fit Carol's character that much. It's kinda just a random superhero costume, her Captain Marvel ones reflect her personality and history a lot more.
Issues with execution aside, Jason Aaron's take on She-Hulk and how she views herself is not without basis. Jen has been harassed, she has been objectified in-universe as well as out; the Sensational She-Hulk series has numerous instances of her clothes being ripped in battle, to say nothing of how three different villains tried to force her into a relationship. There's a even a scene in Sensational She-Hulk where a villain hurls misogynistic insults when her clothes are destroyed by his henchman.
With all that in mind, is it any wonder Jen might come to see he feminine looks as more of a curse than a gift? Was there another, better way it could have been done? Maybe, but the idea does have a pretty strong foundation.

When written well Reed is, dare I say, the most relatable member of the F4 for how deeply flawed he is. For all the problems I have with Waid's run because of his handling of Doom, there is a moment at the beginning between Reed and baby Val which shows that despite his at times cold and distant demeanor, Reed is not oblivious to his own shortcomings and he cares a lot.

"We live in a world of cowards. We live in a world full of small minds who are afraid. We are ruled by those who refuse to risk anything of their own. Who guard their over bloated paucities of power with money. With false reasoning. With measured hesitance. With prideful, recalcitrant inaction. With hateful invective. With weapons. F@#K these selfish fools and their prevailing world order." Tony Stark
Reed and Tony are quite similar for the fact that when they make a mistake some comic fans tend to judge them too harshly without realizing that most of their actions, good or bad, are either born from a desire to atone for past mistakes or make the world a better place for their loved ones and humanity in general.
