I doubt Rhiana is much of an actress though
Although the actress above gets my vote, they might pick a more polynesian looking person, as you said above.

Rihanna not much of an actress?!
    didnt you watch battleship?!!

    I believe so.

Pretty sure there's an interview out there where her name came up in a list of likely characters to appear in the movie.

EDIT: And, yes. Elena Satine would also be awesome.

Eva Longoria - she looks like Mera to me and I bet would be just fine with the physical side of the role too.

Wouldn't it be funny if they got Emilia Clarke?
Opening weekend would probably be pretty good.

That's not Mera, though. I don't care who they cast, as long as she can act well and look like the character.
Based on that, Jessica Chastain is my pick.

Somehow I missed that one. Although Rhi being Caribbean could be like uniting two sea cultures.

Yeah he said it was some form of Aquawoman and as they've clearly showed they are not concerned with looking like Aquaman I'm guessing Mera won't have to look like her comic book counterpart either. I would like the red hair though as it comes from all people.

It's Aquawoman from Earth-2 who is about as related to Mera as Alan Scott is to Hal Jordan. The DCCU Aquaman at least looks like the Aquaman we've seen in cartoons and in the 90s. Mera's appearance has not been prone to any sort of variation during her existence, so there's no good reason to change it.
