Though would it be right to have diversity just for the sake of diversity, just like wondering how many people outside of the comic-verse know that Nick Fury wasn't always black, that only the Ultimate and movie verse version is.

nope it would'nt, i'm not a fan of anything being shoe horned as anyone else.
they've already gone with a Polynesian playing the usually blonde,white Aquaman..so why not have someone of another race play mera?

I'd rather they focus on casting the best actress first and foremost. If she's white, that's fine. At the same time, if she isn't white, that's fine too. Still, I do want her to be a redhead on screen.
