She wasn't recently added, just recently announced. You can just make out Lauren Cohen's face in one of the trailers that came out before the announcement.

I would also point out that it has been stated that when Diana removes her bracers her power is magnified, like, 10x and in that itty bitty, teeny tiny little hop she makes in the final trailer, she's wearing her bracers. Kinda gives an indication of her actual strength level even with the bracers on.

It's never been stated in the comics how much stronger she is without the bracers on. Besides, this is the comicbook movie verse and we don't know if having the bracers on or off will have the same effect. She isn't wearing the bracers on some of her shots at the party scenes, yet she isn't losing control or going berserk like she is supposed to.

She doesn't have the gift of flight, so there are already signs that this is not the same Wonder Woman, at least power wise, as in the comics.

I don't know, depends how early they locked Pine on his role and if he was availiable to shoot the scenes on the re-shoots
