Then maybe there shouldn't be adaptations of his work.

It's amazingly long, I will give you that. Still a soulless, humorless piece of neon plastic, though.

So, you don't like the comic either.

Even the purest film requires collaborating and compromising with lots of people at the same time. That's not Moore's thing.

    Ahh, an unforgettable soul.
    Who should play him?

The whole movie should be Moore ceremonially torching piles of contracts and money professing how much he'd hate it if someone commercialized his life and likeness. ...then End with a commercial for the Alan Moore Action Figures and Mask!

IDK if it's because i didn't read it back when it came out but i didn't care for the comic. kind of odd because i know it influenced a lot of comics that i love but it just felt like a chore to read not long after starting on it. i thought the movie was cool though, not quite sure if i watched the directors cut or not.

I could see Watchmen having more of an impact at original publication than today. Nobody had ever seen anything quite like it, certainly not from one of the major 2, so it no longer feels quite so different. Moreover, the Cold War was still very much a reality, even tho things had warmed somewhat; even with today's West vs. Russia tensions, the context is very different.

Use a whole new League of characters?

    17th Century- Prospero's Men
    18th Century- Gulliver's League
    19th Century- Wilhelmina's First League
    20th Century- Wilhelmina's Second League
    21st Century Legue?

Back-off this awesome franchise and world building concept, and respect Moore's wishes to not have his work revisited/imagined/continued by others. Even though he's made a career doing exactly that to other's work, in fact that's exactly what LXG is.
Simple. Pay respect to the actual source material.

    The actual source.
So, they never actually meet, ever team-up and are from completley separate universes.

Mina never divorced, and is happily married with child free of any connection to Dracula.
Quatermain never faked his own death or became an opium addict.
Likewise Griffin never stages his own death by using another albino he turned invisible as a guinea pig, as a stand in for his own beaten to death self.
Dr. Jekyll doesn't transform under stress Bruce Banner style.
Nemo never allies himself to interests of an Imperialist nation.
    ..etc

    I wouldn't.

I love the comic, but it is clear to anyone with half a brain the the movie isn't the comic.

You might feel surprised but i did meant all these exact developments that you quoted.
I didn't liked the League, especially that atrocious sex scene between Mina and Alan Quatermain.

I totally felt the same way. I can see it's significance to the medium and it's influence and legacy but I didn't actually care for the comic.

All the little bits of history and backstory he makes are creative but the comic itself didn't hold me and the ending is weak. In that regard I think the movie captured the comic which is why I wasn't too into the movie either

As for how I would reboot LOXGM, well they already did and named it Penny Dreadful

So never-mind Film/TV based on it, you're not a fan of the books.
[Checks thread & topic], ...ok then.
