Default Do we have to know who Spider-Man is in Civil War?

Yes, I know that he reveals his secret ID in Civil War. But since that doesn't really make much sense (since no one knows who he is so it's weird anyone would care), why not just have him straight-up reject to reveal his secret ID and never reveal it in the movie?

He just shows up prior or after the Registration Act, and adamantly rejects the notion. Cap takes the role of Spider-Man (i.e. initially supports the Act, but then rejects it) and Spidey is running the underground resistance from the start.

This would be a twist to the story (so it's not a straight rehash), plus it let's Marvel make Spider-Man anyone (well, except for women). Is it Peter Parker? Is it Miles Morales? You could even cast both of the characters as minor supporting characters to feed speculation. It'd be a nice mystery and to my mind would be a nice way of transcending the racial issue, by letting Spider-Man not be defined by a race or ethnic group.

Never read the comics but I do know he is supposed to reveal his identity. I agree tho it would seem a bit weird having a hero who was never acknowledged in the MCU to begin with make a big reveal with his true identity. They should just do the solo Spidey film first so it would make more sense to the story instead of just throwin him in and saying "you know who he is"

Spidey won't have a major role in this movie---probably more of a cameo/teaser where I doubt he'll reveal his identity because it should be intact for his solo movie. Remember, this movie is coming out in a little more than a year and has already been written and ready to start filming. Since the deal with Sony just happened, in order for Spidey to have a major role in Civil War they pretty much would have to rewrite major portions of it, still cast a Spidey, and have this filmed and ready to go in 13 months---don't think that's going to happen unless by some miracle, they planned for this and already have an alternate script. I doubt it though.
