Why isn't there a summers family ongoing?

I don't even care about Havok. Just put Cyclops and all his children from all the alternate realities together, and have them go on a road trip or something. Don't tell me that doesn't sound fun.

If the characters are overpowered, then invent an overpowered villain. The hypothetical Summers book should be about the relationship between the characters that make up the Summers clan. That's where the potential is. Fighting the villain of the day is of secondary concerns.

like... dont you think superheroes would logicaly team up only if:

a) they are roughly equal in power level OR
b) they have different skillsets so even if one is weaker he can still offer something/contribute.

cyclops is an expert tactician. he is a realy good fighter. his optic blasts are extremely powerful.

cable is an expert tactician. he is a MAGNIFICENT warrior. his futuristic weapons are extremely powerful. his gadgets can duplicate stuff like teleportation and force fields.

what does he need cyclops for? shouldnt cyclops team up with someone that at least needs his tactical accumen? it doesnt make sense for them to team up. cable is "cyclops +".

leave weaker characters in teams with weaker characters that need them. it just doenst make sense story-wise. cyclops would just slow cable down in adventures. and ilike the guy.

Haven't gotten to that yet, working my way through my trades of Uncanny X-Men and All New X-Men first.

Cyclops and Havok are two of my favorite mutants. I like Rachel a lot too. But.... I still wouldn't want to see a Summers book. It's neat that the characters have those ties, but, some of them are way too convoluted to be meaningful and I think the characters are more valuable than just their relations to each other -- which I think is what a book like that would boil down to.

Even the Corsair/Tyke plot of father-son blah blah blah was boring as heck in my opinion. ....but, maybe it's just cuz I don't dig the space pirate stuff that much. ...unless it's Metroid ^_^

The only feasible reason I could see them together is if everyone agreed to join Havok and jump into the timestream trying to hunt down Kang and retrieve Havok and Wasp's daughter. I guess that could be somewhat interesting

If they did the old thing where Scott leads a blue team and Ororo leads a gold team, it could be cool to have an ongoing that ties the books together and focuses on the two of them making leadership decisions and planning and stuff. And of course having (secret?) missions of their own. I would read that.
