Sadly, I have to agree. The casting seems all wrong and the costumes on the supers are funny and that wasn't the intention. POWERS is still one of my favorite comics. It's a shame. I'll watch the next two to see, but that pilot was a disappointment.

I liked it, but I'm not paying for it.

It's one-and-done for me. The writing is terrible. They use that stupid Access Hollywood thing to awkwardly explain Walker's back story, then immediately have Wolf come in and remind Walker that he lost his powers, then have Walker discuss his past with Pilgrim, and then have Calista explain Walker's past to Walker. That's a lot of needless, repetitive, heavy-handed exposition to swallow.

Already have Playstation Plus ,so no biggie with me. Have to say the show was underwhelming and I'm being kind. Literally looks like something on SyFy Network or if contestants on "King of the Nerds" were given $500, a camera and some laptops and told to make a tv show.
The production values are low and are not helped with a pedestrian script. Bendis got his writers fee to pay for a deck or pool for his place in Portland so he's happy.

Okay never read the comic so im not upset as most of you are so the mediocre acting & horrible CGI was the only things I had a problem with. I've seen worse series. But i'll give it a few more episodes before I make my final decision.

It seems like common sense, even if the guy is sedated- close the door before picking up the phone.

Seems like they're going for more pathos with Walker (not only his difficulty adjusting to being a normal but his relationship with both Royale and Wolf are more tragic for them having been friends at one point).

That change could've turned me off the show but I felt it was done well. Charles S. Dutton seemed like perfect casting for Captain Cross so kinda wish they'd have gotten him again. Deena wasn't quite the spitfire she's been in the books (and based of the first episode I have a hard time imagining her doing an interrogation scene like the one from the anarchy storyline), but I enjoyed the actress in the following so maybe she'll surprise me.

Liked the criticism of the young powers trying to go viral instead of doing something with their abilities. Sharlto Copley was great, really felt invested in his character (even though Walker has traditionally been more stoic this version is good by me)

Saw the first episode. Trying the push through the second.

I'm too close to the source material to leave it behind, especially when the comics are a singular vision as opposed to more than 70 years of Batman with varying interpretations in print making it easy to go in a film without pigeon holing it.

Deena isn't Deena. I saw the Deena Pilgrim I'm familiar with come out in one line in the first episode (when Walker was dropping Deena off at her father's home). The first episode was a jumbled mess with too much information being crammed into one episode.

Plus, I like the actor playing Walker fine, but, he's small. Like, really small.

In fairness to the show, my gripes come from my adoration and several rereads of the Powers material I carry with me into watching the show.
