    Default Favorite Roger Stern Runs

What are the best Roger Stern runs?

    1. Avengers - Thought his lineup was real solid and they played off of each other well. Shame it ended as abruptly as it did.
    2. Amazing Spider-Man
    3. Superman

Luved his Avengers Assault on Olympus and Masters of Evil. The Superman novel he did was pretty good too.

His run on Captain America with John Byrne was pretty great.

Avengers, Spidey and the Cap runs are great. Some of the best runs on those characters. I love the Dr. Strange issues he wrote a lot.

I just recently found out he had done 20 or so issues of Hulk so I will have to track those down.

This run was perfect. This run & Engelhart/Rogers on Batman (in Detective) were short but classic runs. Both runs are favorites of mine that I re-read every year.

I don't think I've ever read a Roger Stern comic that I didn't like. He's an absolute master of characterization. Avengers, Dr Strange, and Captain America are my favorites.

I love his Spidey Run, then Avengers, then Cap. What was really impressive of his Avengers run is making secondary characters (Starfox, Sub-Mariner, Hercules, Captain Marvel) as interesting as Cap, Thor, and Hawkeye. Issue #274 was my 1st Avengers issue and I love Assault on Olympus the best out of his stories.

The only thing I think he missed on his Avengers run is he wasn't able to write stories with the big 3 (Cap, Iron Man, Thor) on the team at the same time as Iron Man's series went into the Alcoholism storyline and when Stark did come back he was on the WCA so Stern didn't get to write much Tony.

Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man, I enjoy his work on that series more than his run in Amazing
And his Superman run is great

I suggest you add Marvel Team-Up Annual #3 to that, it's Power Man & Iron Fist, with Machine Man, and Hulk

I have liked everything I have read by Roger Stern but Dr. Strange is my favorite. Captain America is a close second.
