Default Batman and Frankenstein #31 Preview/Discussion

    Via 13th Dimension

Cant wait to see the rematch! And very fitting they chose Doug Mahnke to fill-in for Gleason on this one - Doug illustrated the Seven Soldiers mini that introduced this version of Frankie to the DCU.

If you're going to get a fill-in you can do far worse than the actual creator of the guest star that's appearing...

I have no complaints about the fill-in artist, seeing as he's my favourite artist in comics right now.

I adore Mahnke's and Gleason's artwork, so I'm good either way, especially for the Frankenstein issue.

Stinks Gleason's not doing the issue, but Mankhe is awesome. At least we're not getting generic fill in art.

Doug Mahnke makes his return to Frankenstein. Now if only they could find that bald Scottish guy.

    Fantastic issue.

Frank vent his anger, Bruce apologized, and Titus had a "Frankenstein" chew toy, for a short while.

Fitting that Frank knows who Ra's al Ghul is. Mahnke's art was great (as always) -- and a Batman/Frankenstein partnership was a perfect place for it.

    I loved this exchange:

Frankenstein: "So, what did you learn about being dead?"

Batman: "I found it to be a waste of time."

I guess Batman has to literally take you apart before he will apologize.

    Good issue.

Like the last, it didn't move the ball forward much, but still proved to be a lot of fun.

I was dubious about this issue.

    It was a happy surprise.

    Great cliffhanger ending.

Somewhat better than the last two issues that's for sure. Of course it leads us to the worst kept secret in comics, Damian isn't dead anymore.

I do like seeing more Titus. It's a shame he wasn't there to find his boy though. Few things are as strong as the bond between a dog and his boy.

It read VERY fast and I found Franks characterization to be extremely off kilter - nevertheless an entertaining issue.

"That Red Robin boy spent 7 hours stitching me up..." Ha!
