The more I see, the more I think it's hard to replace the classic look.

Hard to beat the classic pulp look. I'll take it every time over the more sci-fi look.

I just love how he drew Superman.
He had an all too short run alongside Joe Casey in 2001 on AOS. He left to do FF with Waid and sadly died too soon shortly after that wrapped. One of the greats...from all accounts a great guy too.

That last one was awesome. Was a cover to an issue of Joe Kelly's ACTION I think. A striking image.

I love Bullock's style on those Action Comics covers, very classy and Fleischer-esque. He's a great storyboard artist, as well. Also, thanks for the kind words on my Superman:Through the Eras piece. I appreciate it a lot.

by vacqs (this seems really derived from MAN OF STEEL's Krypton; prefer a cape over a kilt; probably looks like Neo from THE MATRIX when he flies)

by Jim Lee (yeah, THAT Jim Lee: this was his earlier costume idea, way before he became a leader at DC; very 90s feel)

by RobDuenas (really increases the amount yellow here; I dig the blue boots; but the cape is very old-school Tim Drake)

^^^NICE!!! Perfectly sums up Superman's dynamic nature of the past 7 - 8 decades! Kinda weird how SMALLVILLE SEASON 11 costume is so front and center, but hey, artist's prerogative!

    Some more redesigns ...

by Mista-M (these are the barest of redesigns, but they are effective IMHO)

by guinnessyde (love the belt on this: red band + gold buckle is what I wish the New52 version had for its belt)

by cheetor182 (basically a lighter blue version of MOS costume mixed with less armory designs of New52 costume; the belt here is still better than either one's)

What MOS could have been with saturated colors and no lizardskin texture!

And no, the model is not H Cavill.
