So, a friend and me were discussing who killed the Waynes a few weeks back. Someone we know said Ra's Al Ghul, he said the Joker like the Burton films, I said court of owls.

Given tonights developments, I'd be very surprised if I was wrong.

Great episode, this version of Alfred has really grown on me

I hope it was Joe Chill and Lew Moxon.

Tonight's episode was okay, but I stand by what I said before. "Penguin's Umbrella" was the best episode so far and turned the series in a new direction, with some new revelations.

I get the feeling that the real organization behind the Wayner killings is a bigger thing than the mob. Something like the League of Assassins/Shadows.

Hopefully Sean Pertwee will continue to get more scenes in future.

Doesn't have to be mutually exclusive. In this universe Joe Chill could be an assassin hired by Moxon who is a part of a larger organization like the Owls or League.

I liked the episode, loved Alfred kicking ass (guess the are going with the former MI-5 story for him).
But am I right in thinking the assassin lady is still after Cat and we don't know who sent her.
Cat seemed a little too easy going at the end for someone being hunted. They acted as if things were resolved, when they weren't in any way.

Agreed. I hate using the term "badass" because it gets thrown around so often but Alfred is the very definition of it. Not only can he fight, shoot and shrug off bullet wounds, but he still can make breakfast every morning. I was also impressed with his ability to read people and how he uses it to get what he needs from them. Using a bribe on the street kid, strength with Butch, and flattery/feigned respect with Fish. Bruce may not need to travel the world training to be Batman. He has a pretty solid mentor in Alfred.

I like the Court of Owls as the big bad. Although, I hope they're never taken down and that Gordon only gets a glimpse of who they are.

I liked this episode, but was anyone bugged by the fact that Bruce knows 2/3 of the Gotham Sirens as children?

Also liked Copperhead and the portrayal of a less "psycho" assassin.

why is it that pennyworth and bullock make a better cop duo then gorden and bullock ever did?

Are we supposed to hate harvey dent for being a self righteous prick?

All and all a solid episode, but right now, I'm not sure where they are headed.

    With one exception

I'm kind of convinced that Copplepot will be the man that brings Nigma over to the dark side.

    Nigma needs and wants respect.

Copplepot is great at giving people respect.

Riddler and Penguin are going to have either one of the greatest friendships in the show, or be the worst of enemy's.

    I'm guessing both.

The Reaper should appear at some point. Judson Caspian was Gotham's first vigilante

Wow, surprisingly little comment so far on this episode. I expected there to be five pages by now. I thought it was great, the second best so far after "Penguin's Umbrella." I just knew Bruce was going to get his first kiss before the end, though I thought it would be at the top of that bridge they never got around to climbing. It was nice seeing Bruce throughout an entire episode for a change and part of the action instead of just his usual brief appearances.

A few posts back I said I thought it would be a good long time before Ivy did anything significant but good god, here she was acting like some twitchy psycho horror movie kid. I like it and I want more.

Was Gordon ever a guard at Arkham in the comics? This seems like an interesting new direction with all kinds of possibilities for characters we might see. I'm also wondering about certain other possibilities, like maybe Dent eventually has enough of being forced to tow the line for the mayor and stands up to him, and then the mayor arranges for someone to throw acid in his face. Also, does anyone think there was any significance to how the mayor worked the word "Hush" into their conversation, or was it nothing?

I hope Carmen Bindacova's acting gets better

I've never seen Richard Kind so angry
Richard Kind? Was that Mayor James, or someone else?

And, agree with Art School. Loved that 'Kiss. My. Ass.' from Gordon. A real take no **** response from him, on yet another bloody cover up.

Not a killing by a cop, or a suicide. Should be reported, investigated and nothing murky like that. Left wondering how the Mayor can act all in your face, and 'top dog' whatever, as if HE'S running the show, when only three episodes ago, Gordon and Bullock arrested him!

I wonder if Gordon will meet Aaron Cash there at Arkham.

Aaron Cash? Who is that, Guy?

I know a fair few Batman villains, but not them.

Also, presume by the promo, whatever Episode 11 is called, or whatever it will be called, that the woman talking to Gordon at the start isn't Barbara, or someone we know, but new character, Leslie Thompkins.

Liked the way it went between Gordon and Bullock towards the end.

The classic, grizzly guy, going 'why didn't you quit?', or 'THAT shift? Man, that sucks' sorta thing. Liked that. Don't know does anyone get what I mean, but I hope so, and I found it rather endearing.

Like the bond that's grown between the two, and hope that despite their partnership temporarily ending, somehow, someway, they end up back together. Be great if it's Edward Nygma that somehow ends up partnered to Bullock, be it on the streets, like Gordon and his previous partner, or in his ear, in the lab, like he is now, or Felicity, Chloe, Cisco, Caitlin.

Very ominous ending to boot, capping the rollercoaster ride that was LoveCraft off nicely, with the honest cop Jim Gordon heading at last, or once more, into the dark, unnerving and unwelcoming grounds of Arkham Asylum.

I'll be very interested to see what the show becomes, with one half moving around Gotham and its' streets, the other stalking the halls of Arkham Asylum. Wonder will Bullock end up heading over there at some point, on some case or another, or something to do with any of the multiple top dog criminals, or mob bosses?

Wonder why Harvey didn't end up asserting himself more with the Mayor? I mean, he did, to some degree, defending Gordon and himself, but could he not have stood up more for what they'd been trying to do, even if it greatly backfired in their faces? I mean, it was a rather admirable attempt to get the Wayne killer(s). Clear up the truth, amidst the cover ups and the lies. Do the right thing, and in a way that seemingly wouldn't have ended up getting back to Selina.

Even if there's a darker side to him, and a darker future, I would've hoped, even then, and especially now, he would've done more, as Gordon had.
