Storm and Rogue had a very great mentor relationship.

As Rogue is always in the search of motherly figures..due to the fact her and Mystique are hot and then cold and yes but then no, or in and then out or up but then down. And Irene is gone..

So Storm is a fantastic mentor and figure for her, and Storm is naturally motherly anyway when she needs to be.

Xavier lied to Rogue. He said that he will repair her abilities when she will prove her worth. If one telepath can help her other should be able to help her too. She even asked Psylocke for help. Rogue (when she had hard time) couldn't accept the fact that she proved her worth because then she should be fixed.

Storm harsh advice was actually right, because Rogue needed to accept reality. She attacked Carol. She had her in her brain. She just needed to be stronger than Carol copy. Storm earlier said that Rogue earned her place in X men. And Storm said that Carol can't keep Rogue away right?

Yes Storm could be nicer but Storm had problems when she talking with very emotional people. Rogue had reasons to be scared and angry because of Genosha and Xavier lies. She thought that Carol personality will be removed when she will prove her worth.

IMO, Xavier says that he's admiting Rogue in his School and that he's gonna try to 'cure' her from the start, exactly the same way he admited Wolvie and he tried to redirect and learn about the origin of his aggressiveness. That's what I call 'giving a chance': I'm gonna help you because I trust in your willingness to improve yourself --not I will help you WHEN you satisfied me enough.

The fact that Xavier didn't get to remove Carol from Rogue's mind, that's another story (although, yes, what an alpha telepath, meh!).

As for the subject of the thread... Honestly, I never saw a special connection between Storm and Rogue, these two as a duo doesn't make so much sense for me. They have shared little panel time together alone, and they're very different --so aerie the first one, so messy the other. I'm not saying that they don't deeply appreciate each other, but frankly I can't imagine them seeking for hanging together: I think they would choose another mates instead (Storm with Kitty or Kurt or Logan, Rogue maybe with Rachel or Logan too).
