I'd like for Gambit and Rogue to get back together. ONE happy mutant couple--just one--is all I ask.
Comics bigwigs say a stable couple can't be interesting. I say seeing the adjustments a couple makes in the name of and for the sake of being together is the most interesting part. It's no work to break up for no reason; it's an easy way out. Then one or both characters spend at least a year moping and THAT is boring.

Agreed, Neko. I can't believe I missed that- Not cool, mikeb. I appreciate your ability to reference just about any comic for the last thirty years, but if you hate Gambit that much then this definitely isn't the thread for you!
My favorite X couple. But after the way Rogue has done Gambit lately, I say give them some time apart and let Gambit move on. When Rogue see's him with others she may finally figure out "hey this guys a catch and they all know it". But yeah down the line I would like to see these two together again.
Define lately, lol. They've been officially broken up for at least three years (our time), I believe. The more time passes, the more I'm staying to think that space between them isn't going to fix anything; they need a good writer who wants to tell their story in a positive way. And then that writer has to get it past editorial
So, time for a new discussion to keep this thread alive! At what point would you say that they realized they were in love with each other? I think Rogue fell first, per the first Gambit series. I'm none too sure about Gambit, though...
For Gambit, not just attracted but in love? By the end of X-cutioner Song(UXM 297) when Rogue's dealing with her temporary blindness and for the once Gambit doesn't try to flirt or impress her - he empathises and merely gets her a blanket.
To me at that stage his fallen for her, but I don't think he realises yet, just how badly.
Rogue I'm not so sure of - maybe someone else has a 'moment' in mind.
