Denise Nickerson, Violet in ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,’ Dies at 62
    By Anna Tingley - July 10, 2019 11:21PM PT

Denise Nickerson, best known for her role as Violet Beauregarde in the 1971 version of “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory,” died Wednesday night. She had been taken off life support earlier in the day after suffering a stroke in 2018. She was 62.
Her family made the announcement on Facebook. “She’s gone,” the message read.
Nickerson suffered a severe stroke in June 2018 after which she entered the ICU for treatment. Despite entering a rehab facility later in the year, her son Josh Nickerson took to Facebook earlier Wednesday to announce her debilitating state which led to their decision to cease life support. “They just took off all the equipment. None of it was helping, but making her only more uncomfortable,” he wrote. “We’re telling her it’s okay to let go.”
Nickerson’s son and his wife Jasmine also created a GoFundMe page where the couple is posting updates on Nickerson’s health, where they reported that she had suffered from seizures shortly after being admitted into the hospital and later entered a “coma-like” state...

Aww man. I have been catching up with Deadwood (still have to see the HBO movie) and I was lookin' at Powers Boothe and thinkin', dude has been around in movies all of my life, way back I used to get Hauer and Boothe crossed. Freakin' kids today have no real idea of what a really dope 'B'-movie is. RIP.

Me and my brother rented Blind Fury from the video store and we ate that **** up. The scene in Batman Begins where he has that glass and looks at 'Bruce' and says "You look like him, your Dad." Such a passing line but I love that scene, that's what I always remember him from. Yea, yea Blade Runner, sometimes it's the little roles, that's too bad. In Jackie Brown Sam Jackson looked at the TV and said "Is that Rutger Hauer?" Briget Fonda goes, "no that's Helmut Berger." Lol, I love that line. That's to bad. RIP.
Beefing up the old home security, huh?

There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Wow. I really think he had been under used for a while. My favorite Rutger Hauer films are Blade Runner (naturally), LadyHawke and the Hitcher.

Yeah, when I first saw it I had no expectations of the movie but I just loved it.
