Maybe you are thinking accident because of what happened to Brandon?

It seems like the cause of Bruce's death was deemed to be swelling of the brain that was apparently an allergic reaction to a certain drug.

I liked his DC war-related work as a kid.

It's funny, but I don't recall when he died (I was 8). I was reading the newspaper by then, but I guess the name didn't mean anything to me at the time. His death occurred before Enter the Dragon (I definitely recall seeing the ads for that in the paper) was released and made him a legendary star, but he wasn't completely unknown in the US. I must have seen him on Batman reruns prior to '73, but the name didn't register until, again, after his untimely passing.

For me, it was Mission: Impossible, watching the show in syndication on UHF many, many years ago.

Oh my, George Romero and Martin Landau. Such memories.

I never saw Night of the Walking Dead in the theaters. But I did remember vaguely some of Roger Ebert's review in the Sun Times about it terrifying a Saturday matinee audience that had young children, many without parents. That was pretty common back then and I recall going to movies with just my brothers and sisters. So a few years later it showed up on a Saturday night on the local horror movie show called Screaming Yellow Theater hosted by the original Svengoolie. I was almost afraid to go to my upstairs bedroom by the end!

Martin Landau I recall mostly from Mission Impossible. But my favorite was for his memorable Oscar winning performance as Bela Lugosi in Tim Burton's "Ed Wood".

For my family, it was WPIX when it originally was on. It was really the first space show I watched in first-run airings (I saw a bit of a Star Trek episode as a toddler and bits and pieces of UFO, but I really didn't watch them until they were in syndicated-rerun form). It was also the first time I saw Martin Landau and his then-wife Barbara Bain (I didn't see reruns of their Mission: Impossible performances until years later). My favorite Lanadau performance is as Bela Lugosi in Ed Wood, though. Whatever the role, he always shined

    RIP

Yeah, he always seemed a lot older than he was going back to at least the late '80s. I was shocked to find out years ago that he was only a few years older than my parents.

Sounds close to my experiences as well. Space 1999 and reruns of Mission Impossible.

It's possible I first saw Martin Landau in an episode of either The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, or The Rifleman, but I can't recall seeing any of those specific episodes before the pilot episode of Space: 1999 in 1975.
