Robert Osborne almost single handedly gave me my love of film. I don't think I would have gotten into the classics, or rather "The Essentials" if it weren't for his knowledgeable and enthusiastic introductions on TCM.

Joni Sledge of Sister Sledge, who did those wonderful disco anthems under Nile Roger's guidance, passed away at the age of 60.

That's incredible sad. A wonderful singer. Unforgettable music.

Rock'n'roll legend Chuck Berry passed away, a few weeks after announcing a new album when he turned 90.

Joni Sledge was so young! 60! How sad.

Chuck Berry too! He was gonna "Twist Yet Again" before this happened.

The word "legend" gets thrown around a lot, but it's well deserved there. One of the original greats who put rock music on the map.

I knew this day was coming, but it still hurts. Time to listen to my Chess box set of his music for the umpteenth time...

    RIP

As fans of the Beatles, disliking Chuck Berry would be nonsensical.

The Beatles, the Beach Boys, the Stones, the Animals, the Yardbirds/Led Zeppelin, AC/DC...they were the Disciples of Chuck, one and all.

The word "legend" gets used a lot. But there really is no other way to describe Chuck Berry.

Absolutely, BA. He was immensely influential in the British Isles, the US... everywhere!

Who's left from the first generation? Little Richard, the Killer, Fats, Lloyd Price... from the greats, I think that's it.

Not many. I can't think of any either.
