The Actor's studio is really great show. I'm going to try and dive into some of them. It was amazing how many prominent figures in films appeared on that program. R.I.P. Mr. Lipton

The power of Christ compels me to state unequivocally that he was one of the finest actors to ever grace a film!

May God sort this one out properly. For Max was a jewel that never lost its luster.

Actor Lyle Waggoner, Star of ‘The Carol Burnett Show,’ Reportedly Dead at 84

For us comic book geeks: He also played Steve Trevor and Steve Trevor Jr. on Wonder Woman in the late 70s.

And he was the first male semi-nude centerfold for Playgirl magazine in 1973.

Wonder Woman was where I first noticed him (though he wasn't nearly as noticeable to me as Lynda Carter was ). I thought he was likable as Steve Trevor, FWIW. He wasn't bad on The Carol Burnett Show, either, but his principal job on that program appeared to be "real handsome guy."

He almost was the star of Batman back in the '60s, too. Judging by a clip featuring him as Bruce Wayne, it would have been a more serious show.

So sad! Loved Lyle. Wished he had a cameo in the WW movie.

I remember him mostly for being the announcer on the Carol Burnett show. He really hadn't done much acting at that point but eventually they worked him into some of their sketches.

This one was one of my favorites, where he plays a prisoner and Harvey Korman and Tim Conway play German soldiers interrogating him. Of course, they were doing this in front of a live audience so the crack up quite a bit.

Very sad, Kenny Rogers passed away.

His influence reached far beyond country music. He "rediscovered" former child star Little Esther in the 60s who went on to become a blues, soul and disco star as Esther Phillips. He worked with black artists like Lionel Richie and Gladys Knight and the Pips, like on this track.
