    When the Superman movies came out, I wasn't really very fond of Lex Luthor having incompetent henchmen. But Ned Beatty was just so perfect as Otis.

    Basically my sentiments. Otis would never, ever have been working in any capacity for Lex in the comics, but he was endearing in the films. Of course, Beatty's roles in Network and Deliverance, among others, were far superior, IMO.
