Saw that on the news this morning. I have to say Mitch McConnell made a touching tribute to her.

I always forget that he was the same age as my parents, since he was a retired football star by the time I knew his name. He was only in his thirties when I saw him in tons of shows when I was a kid (not a bad actor, either - certainly better than Broadway Joe and O.J.). It was years later, though, when I understood how great he was and his esteemed place in football history.

    RIP

Well, he certainly didn't have the cutting edginess of OJ, nor did he get to the point as quickly as the juice. But then OJ was a cut above. But as a kid, I liked Butkus. Also, Jack Youngblood of the Rams, whose mom once rescued my dog when he got loose---he's got a permanent fan because of that.

I see what you did there.

That would have made me a permanent fan, too.

Legendary comics creator Keith Giffen has passed away at age 70.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Aw man, that was way too young. Loved his Legion of Superheroes, Defenders, Ambush Bug.

    Oh, no.

That one hurts like Cooke or McDuffie. All some of my favorites. RIP, Mr. Giffen.
