Powers Boothe died Sunday morning during his sleep of natural causes at age 68.

I recall his big breakout role was his Emmy winning performance as Jimmy Jones in a TV mini series CBS' Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones. Also known for his roles in Tombstone, Deadwood, Sin City, Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.

One movie you should look into also is not as well known is Southern Comfort with Keith Carradine about a National Guard weekend training exercise that goes terribly wrong in the Louisiana swamps.

For the folks who are on the fence about Southern Comfort, it was also directed by Walter Hill.

Folks are usually aware of The Warriors and Streets Of Fire. Hill also directed those two films.

Like you, I first recall hearing about him when he played Jim Jones. I always looked forward to seeing Powers Booth in anything.

    RIP

First went Kurt. Then Layne. Now Chris.

Eddie is now the sole survivor of Grunge's Rushmore.

Being investigated as a suicide, no less. How sad.

Just got an alert on my phone saying the medical examiner confirmed Mr. Cornell's cause of death as hanging.

I don't understand. What was the problem? Was Mr. Cornell in financial straits? Marital trouble? A health crisis? What went wrong?

We may never know, and to be honest, it's really none of our business.

Audioslave was my ****, he was JUST in Indy w/ Soundgarden last week.
    So very, very, sad. RIP.

Tough day, from Like a Stone.

    And on I read
    Until the day was gone
    And I sat in regret
Of all the things I've done
    For all that I've blessed
    And all that I've wronged
    In dreams until my death
    I will wander on
