Another fine artist gone. I go back to his work with Jungle Action when he helped introduce me to Black Panther.

The rumor I read was that Chris had been struggling with depression for awhile and was on medication for it. However, he supposedly was taking too much of it and one of the side effects is paranoia. The story goes that after his last show he was slurring his words in normal conversation and admitted to friends that he'd taken this stuff. When they hadn't heard from him after awhile they went to his room to check on him and that's when they found him.

A lot of medicines are like that. For example, I learned the hard way that if I overdose on my rescue inhaler it can cause or worsen my Asthma symptoms. Psychiatric medicines are even more dangerous if you aren't careful about how you take them, or what you take them with.

I enjoyed his work on many different books. Jungle Action, FF, and of course Deathlok. I met him at a Con a few years ago, a very sweet man.

Not sure why he fell out of favor with the PTB after the 80s?
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

More words and pictures, including some recent messages and work by Rich himself, at:

The latter also includes links to Buckler material at '20th Century Danny Boy' and 'Diversions of the Groovy Kind' (in the comments).

One should never have to become 'famous' this way...

Well, he was 89 and led a blessed life.

That 8 year old girl however... damnit.

Well, that bites. I can remember watching him as Simon Templar (my favorite Moore role, FWIW) as a preschooler way back in the late '60s. Always liked him in everything he did, too. My mother will be sad hearing this, also, since she thought he and Tom Selleck were the epitome of handsomeness.

Respectfully, the first named victim is an 18 year old young woman. The 8 year old is the youngest victim .

    Thoughts and prayers to all.

May the families of all those who have lost loved ones be given strength to endure and the patience to recover

Methinks I'll watch my favorite Moore Bond flick, The Spy Who Loved Me in his honor tonight.
