Amen to that. It's that one evil, deranged mind can cause such grief and tragedy for so many.

I don't know which one I like the best - that one, Live and Let Die, or The Man With the Golden Gun. All three are better than what came later, though.

First Moore film I actually bought a ticket for was For Your Eyes Only, FWIW.

I might do the same, but my Moore fave is Live and Let Die, where I think Moore kind of most plays the early Connery style Bond (Connery being my favorite Bond actor).

Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

Been watching Moore on MAVERICK season 4 playing Beau Maverick, replacing Garner's Bret.
Although my favorite Moore appearance was a season 2 episode called "The Rivals".
Moore and Garner switch ids to woo a girl. FUN!

    My Moore-Bond movie rankings:

    1) For Your Eyes Only.
    2) The Spy Who Loved Me.
    3) Octopussy.
    4) Live and Let Die.
    5) Moonraker
    6) The Man with the Golden Gun.
    7) From a View to a Kill.

I finally saw him as Beau Maverick this year on the Heroes & Icons channel. While not as good as James Garner and Jack Kelly, IMO, you can see the template for his take on Simon Templer there slowly forming.

    Here's my Moore Bond rankings:

    1) The Spy Who Loved Me
    2) The Man With The Golden Gun
    3) Live And Let Die
    4) For Your Eyes Only
    5) A View To A Kill
    6) Octopussy
    7) Moonraker

In my humble opinion, Moore's run included some of the best theme songs in the history of the franchise with offerings by Paul McCartney ("Live And Let Die"), Carly Simon ("Nobody Does It Better"), Sheena Easton ("For Your Eyes Only") and Duran Duran ("A View To A Kill").

I agree. The Moore era gave us the largest ratio of Bond themes that had great crossover pop appeal. The Bond themes since then have been pretty forgettable.

Ugh! Saw him twice with the Allman Brothers Band back in the '90s. Massive fan of his work - undeniably one of the great voices in rock history.

Also today: Hall of Fame baseball pitcher and former senator Jim Bunning passed away at 85. His claim to fame while pitching for the Phillies was his having hurled a Father's Day perfect game against the Mets in 1965.

While not an inner-circle Hall of Fame pitcher of the Walter Johnson or Tom Seaver variety, he deserved his induction, nonetheless.
