Now TMZ took it back... say he's "clinging to life."

Now I feel like Frank Reynolds during Hinkley's assassination attempt on Reagan - let's get our facts straight, TMZ!

Apparently the faulty info came from the LAPD?

    RE: Tom Petty

He was easily in my Top 10, and his passing hit me harder than I expected; much more so than even Prince or Bowie. "Room At The Top" has been a favorite for years, but it's been on repeat for days now.

Default Tom Petty / Stevie Nicks - "Insider"

A gorgeous duet with my favorite female artist:

Basketball great Connie Hawkins dies at 75

"'The Hawk' revolutionized the game and remains to this day an icon of the sport and one of basketball's great innovators," the Suns said in their statement. "His unique combination of size, grace and athleticism was well ahead of its time and his signature style of play is now a hallmark of the modern game."

I don't recall hearing his name while he played (I didn't get interested in the NBA until the '80s), but it's fun watching old films of him in his prime.
