A mediocre pitcher career-wise (though very talented), he sure put it together for that one game in 1956 (it was his best regular season, too).

    RIP

Yes, but for that one day, that one game, the stars aligned and greatness was thrust upon him.

While I know that you are going to lose folks who have been a part of your "World" just by virtue of that time is passing by, this year is off to a cruddy start.

Feel free to take a day or two off, death.

Well, that bites. IMO, he was the most important part of Rush. Yeah, the lyrics could be pretentious at times, but at least they didn't seem to be written during a coffee break like many other non-Rush songs. Obviously, he was a master drummer.

    RIP

Growing up during the '70s, he usually was just the bad-guy-of-the-week on one of the TV dramas that night. It wasn't until the '80s that I found out how popular he had been during the '50s and '60s (not to mention being the inspiration for Snapper Carr). Still, it wasn't until this century that I actually saw an episode of 77 Sunset Strip (it wasn't in rerun form in the NYC metropolitan area by the time I was watching TV regularly circa 1969).

    RIP

American Horror Story actor, Harry Hains has sadly passed away at the age of 27. His mother confirmed his passing in an emotional post: "On Jan 7 my beautiful son died... Sadly he struggled with mental illness and addiction."

Appreciation for his talent will only grow as bands attempt to cover Rush, as a tribute, and fail to even come close to the drumming parts.

Actress, model and ex-wife of TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman, Julie Strain died on January 12 at the age of 57.
Eastman created the main character in the graphic novel "The Melting Pot" on her, and Strain voiced the character in the animated adaptation "Heavy Metal 2000", aka "F.A.K.K.²", and also did promotional photo shoots in the character's outfit (see image above).
