You realize that by saying this, you're also saying that DC editorial allowing Azz to do his run was a bad idea as well, right?

We know that for whatever reason whether it's because he is friends with Dan Didio or someone else powerful at DC that DC editorial has pretty much let him alone and let him tell the story that he wanted to. Something that a lot of the previous writers on WW were not allowed to do and something surely that would not have been allowed to the original intended writer on the book

Yet, there have been rumors that Azz wanted to use Steve Trevor and put Diana in a romantic relationship with Orion and those ideas supposedly got nixed by editorial.

Until we know what that original pitch was all about, I don't think we're in a position to say what Azz is giving us is better.

seeing WW in JL, if that was the way she should be in her solo book makes sense that he would step in and do something better.
Superman was/is under heavy editorial influence, and it just screw up the books. they were selling under pre52 numbers before doomed crossover.

Because Geoff Johns and the FE and JLA related books was using the character of Steve Trevor. Surely you can see the difference there.

If Johns called dibs on Trevor, probably it was what happened, and want to keep them apart, Azzarello can't do nothing.
