Default Emperor Heraclius vs Richard the Lionheart

Equal sized armies with the same composition. Who wins? The Byzantine or the Englishman.

I'm guessing Redcoats beat Cataphract as they have both a slightly higher power and a huge bonus against mounted units.

However if this was the 3 version instead than the Man O' War definitely beats the Dromon.

In 5 It's the same concept. British naval power is superior.

thus by the infallible logic of Civilization, British Unique Units are better all around and they would win the fight.

Otherwise I would have to point out that if it was exactly the same armies with exactly the same composition, random factors would play a much bigger part than the tactics.
