She can, but it's never been as consistent as with Superman. He got the power 3-4 years after his inception, and it became part of his iconic power set ever since. She didn't get consistent flight until post-Crisis, and before that, in her most iconic television appearances (Superfriends, and I believe the Lynda Carter show) she didn't have it.

If she doesn't fly in this, it isn't going to be a serious slight against the character as some are going to make it out to be.

Wonder Woman couldn't fly until the Perez reboot and she didn't even start with that, it was gifted to her later (she originally used Hermes's sandals to fly, which Cassie Sandsmark also used originally to fly). She's only been flying for a very, very short period of time in her long history and even with the crapfest that Azzarello created, she couldn't fly until Hermes gave her that power. That's why she had an invisible jet and we've seen the invisible jet in the promo pic, so it makes sense. You don't need an amazingly advanced stealth plane to fly when you can fly on your own..

Also, hopefully DC won't go with the lame Demi-god concept for Wonder Woman. Makes her less unique and it's a really lame origin over all. Not to mention it cuts down on Wonder Woman's original message as all her power now comes from men (Zeus, her father.. Hermes gave her flight and Ares/War taught her to fight). I hope they ditch the Perez reboot idea of the Golden Lasso of Truth too and just go back to the lasso being able to compel people to do what Wonder Woman tells them. It'd be great and do a lot to undo the harm Azzarello and the Finches have done to Wonder Woman since the new 52 reboot and hopefully lead DC to rebooting her and fixing her.. and stopping her from playing Superman's helpless girlfriend too.

It was already confirmed long ago that she is the daughter of Zeus in the film universe.

I disagree strongly. Diana flying just looks wrong. She's a warrior, and looks best when there is a solidity to her imagery. She just looks more solid and ferocious jumping around than she does jumping.

Do you realized Superman started out making tall leaps and jumps during the golden age. So why can't a woman's powers evolve the same way?

Yeah, and that's exactly why they fired Jackson's ass and got Hugh Jackman to be Wolverine instead.

Really? Not her ability to communicate with animals? Her ability to fight in formation with Superman, Green Lantern, Shazam, and/or Martian Manhunter is her most forgettable power?

    Exactly.

Technically, Wonder Woman was flying before Superman was. Yes, it was thanks to the stupid invisible plane, but she still had aerial capabilities years before Superman.

Superman has evolved a few dozen powers from his original design over the years. I really don't see why people are so resistant to Wonder Woman getting to do the same.

Well, since I always forget that she can fly, yes. Was that a trick question?

I don't consider Jamie Alexander to be that physically imposing. She's tall, but she's also rather slender.

But you remembered that she can talk to animals? And unless you have never read a Justice League comic for the last thirty-odd years, I really don't see how you could be unaware that she flies.

My problem with WW flying is that I can't recall anything interesting she has done with it. Its primarily used for travel. Flight for Superman feels like a integral component of his character. Sure it wasn't part of his character at first, but it has been with him for most of his existence.

If you look Azz's run, how often would does she use flight?
    > once to save Zola
    > another on New Genesis
    > again during the her fight with Moon
    > ...?

She just doesn't use it that often. You can say "Well that is Azz so...X" but I don't remember her using it under the Finches, or extensively in any other post-Crisis run. Perez is the exception of course as he introduced the power, but even he has Wonder Woman fighting on foot a lot.

wuh-huh-what? It's got nothing to do with evolution, but rather the flavor of the character. Versions of Diana that jump around have a solidity and ferocity to their imagery that is very thrilling and fits a warrior. Versions that fly just look kind of bland.

That way with Andrew Garfield for The Amazing Spider-Man films.

And, least for enthusiasm and such, that way, for sure, with Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
That's why we have directors to explain it to them. Of course everyone is ''studying or studying the characters. How would they dare not to? I hope Al Pacino, won't even pretend. Crowe pretty much told on a Nerdist panel that he only read the scrip for Jor-El.

    WW debut is long overdue.

Still holding breath that the bottom doesn't fall out & it gets endlessly delayed in 'production hell' or whatever.
