Default Failed Login Notification on CBR Community

    Hi All,

I just got an e-mail from CBR stating the following...

    "Dear Andru,

Someone has tried to log into your account on CBR Community with an incorrect password at least 5 times. This person has been prevented from attempting to login to your account for the next 15 minutes.

The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 94.72.181.82

    All the best,
    CBR Community"

Has anyone else gotten a message like this before? Any way to match the IP address to the person who is trying to "hack" my account?

No problem. I don't know if you can find out who they are or where they're located, but that's the general area.

You are not alone, we've had a few people report in about this happening. As long as you've got a secure password everything should be fine.

The best thing to do would be to forward the e-mail to us at community@comicbookresources.com

@Andru,i recommend you change password on the strong password, for example FgLkNf78425309MrCg%*# and change password from the email.

Never not use the same passwords from the account and the email. If somebody received access to your email,he also can receive access to your account. I also recommend you delete cookies after closing the page.

Same here. I'm a bit puzzled by the recommendation to change your password... doesn't this indicate that your password is not compromised, because they failed to login (always a good idea to have a non dictionary, non trivial password, though). But it does bring up the problem of where did they get your username, and what password did they try to use? Is it just a brute force attack or are they retrying from a different compromised password?
